A longtime Sagaponack resident, Elie shares the relaxed seaside style of his home, CRESTVIEW.
Blending timeless elegance with modern attitude, Elie’s beachfront residence perfectly balances the old with new. Formerly a 200-year-old Vermont barn, it was uprooted and renovated, providing the designer with the ideal setting for him to relax and focus. “I do a lot of my designing at my Sagaponack home; it is a place where I can clear my head and get the most creative,” says Elie.
A tour inside makes clear the inspirations that guide Elie Tahari. The wood beams and vaulted ceiling are original, but the interior is transformed, offers a minimalist contrast to the weatherworn exterior. Art by Hiroshi Sugimoto, Elliott Puckette, Bert Stern, and David LaChapelle fill the space, while the rolling sea offers a gentle rhythm.
Elie continues, “My biggest buzz is spending time here with my kids. In the summer, we cycle, play ball, swim and have barbecues.”
The designer feels passionately connected to the Hamptons, which is also the site of his flagship store, located at One Main Street in East Hampton.
